Judy is also a member of N-DART, SART (State Agricultural Response Team) UF Veterinary Corps Team and is an HSUS National (VIP) Instructor. She has worked in private practice as a Certified Veterinary Technician / Practice Administrator for more than 32 years, as well as, taught “Large Animal Medicine” for four years at the St. Petersburg College (SPC) School of Veterinary Technology. In 2005, Judy implemented the first (HSUS) “Disaster Animal Response Team” training program in conjunction with the SPC Veterinary Technology Program.

Judy has supported and or deployed under HSUS / ASPCA / FLSARC / UF on a number of rescue and recovery missions: Hurricane Charley, 2004; Hurricane Katrina, 2005; Tennessee Puppy Mill Confiscation, 2008; and Hurricane Ike, 2009. Her primary deployment duties include but are not limited to: Medical Triage and Equine Shelter. She has participated in multiple Disaster Mock Drills, Pet-Friendly Shelter Operations and Neglect Cases.  She worked directly with Dr. Melinda Merck…the Forensic Veterinarian for the ASPCA that convicted Michael Vick.

Judy has also lectured on behalf of the FVMA (Florida Veterinary Medical Association) Disaster Symposium-Large Animal Medicine-2008.

Judy owns and shows registered Paint and Quarterhorses. She and her husband share their home with their Chihuahua Oliver
